I remember in 7th grade at GDS we had a turntable in our homeroom class, and Dante brought in Cramps and Ramones records and we'd all listen to them at lunch. This would have been @ '79 or '80. Formative times!

Thank you for this. As soon as I get home from my trip, I am putting on Crawdaddy Express. // Seth, check out Starr and the Czars. They’re having their record release show at Comet next month. Come back for a quick visit!

So enjoyable. I’d followed his insta for some years but didn’t know who he was or about the books. About to order them!

Also I relate to this as a HS kid getting into early Zeppelin and then The Who and the Yardbirds in ‘82-‘83 ‘it was only 15 years prior but felt so far away’ captures it perfectly!

Appreciate this a great deal, Andy! Yeah the weird accordion nature of time, how some things actually come closer the longer we wait….

Love that formulation. I’m also just remembering in the late 70s in early 80s – between the ages of 12 and 16, I really identified with John Lennon and a general hippie sensibility, even though I I wasn’t old enough to have lived any of that. At one point in high school I had a beret, round tinted, sunglasses, and sported weird vintage clothes like old marine dress uniforms. somehow I was channeling Sergeant Pepper, but was totally unaware of it at the time.

Honestly, some things are just in the air....
